I applaud Mr. Nhuan Xuan Le for making the beauty of Vietnamese poems more accessible to the English speaking world. The collection of poems in this book represents the work of a wide variety of Vietnamese poets.

I
bought a copy of "Vietnamese Choice Poems"
by Nhuan Xuan Le (Thanh-Thanh) and have read
them many times. I find in this book lots of pieces so well translated that I
think they may be considered English poems, I mean originals instead of
translations.
I have heartily recommended it to my friends.

When
reading foreign poetry, I prefer a rhymed translation to a literal one. It is
more poetic than a colloquial version.
In "Vietnamese Choice Poems," they are all English verse translations.
And they are about our days, not antiquity.
I hope this anthology is useful to students at Asian Studies Centers.

I
purchased "Vietnamese Choice Poems" by Nhuan Xuan Le and read it
several times.
The presentation of this book is excellent and its contents very interesting in
the form of American poetry.
Eighty poets representing more than three million refugees, including their
descendent generations, throughout the world, want to send out a certain
message, with the most graceful and refined expression of feelings, about the
most emotional 1975 historic event.
Mr. Nhuan Xuan Le, aka Thanh-Thanh, by this, continues to bring it to a good
end, the cultural reconciliation.
He obviously intended to offer his work to readers in the United States and in
the world as well.
I treasure his poems, and I am proud to introduce to you all the beauties of his
well-known translation.
