THE FLAMES FLARED MY PAIN
and flames, blood and tears
the television screen spread dyeing.
September the eleventh in California
tuned in, watched and burst out crying.
my God! I saw
New York tumble,
DC’s heaven and earth quake.
War! yells and shouts resounded
than ever before to make me shake.
States had been in peace and left open,
barbarous profited from this to violate;
hijacked the planes, piloted, crashed
their trunks thousands’ fates to waste.
Twin Towers submerged in the smokes,
Pentagon’s steel and stones fell into ruin.
the whole America got in panic,
whole world started, disgusted at the sin.
heartless terrorists, seeing human blood
they satisfied, madder in this condition?
species are they that hate coziness?
are they that only thirst for demolition?
happened nobody’d starve in the US
would die of pangs if humans pain;
the States is not a paradise,
it chipped, what’d of the world remain?
terrorists did really embarrass
only this country but the world affiliation;
élite will make up their minds
measures in revenge, retaliation.
friends! my heart ached all that morning
has so far suffered such sadness sable;
have been astonished and wondered why:
pitiless the terrorists are still able?
hands were raised demanding to fight!
prayers were said asking to excuse!
felt so compassionate for President Bush:
was moved the historical course to choose.
and flags are hung, door to door expand;
melancholy the States is still forever grand.
